Full Description

Contemporary records state, "Pillbox. Moors Dump rear of Council Schools, Barrack Street. Map ref. 457432" (Mil. Ed.).<1>

This pillbox can be clearly seen on an aerial photograph taken by the RAF in 1946. It was hexagonal with the entrance on the NW side.<2>

This position is a high bluff overlooking the R. Colne some 70 yards away.
