Full Description

Anchor Hill was probably the medieval market-place. High Street, West Street and East Street all run into it, and there is a short lane leading down to The Quay.

Some infilling of the market-place at Anchor Hill took place, with the building of The Old Bakehouse in the sixteenth century.<1>
