Full Description

A low lying mound c.10-15m in diameter. No evidence of briquetage in the area, and no burnt deposit exposed.

Site assessment
Located on the land recently acquired by the country park from a local farmer. It is currently under grass and has not been cultivated in recent memory.

Future recommendations
It is recommended that the current management regime is continued. Recently, a water drainage pipe was put into one side of the red hill: if further work of this nature is required in the vicinity of the red hill, it is recommended that the archaeology section is consulted for specialist archaeological advice <1>
