Full Description

Large scale excavations undertaken prior to construction of shopping precinct during 1981-2 and 1984-5. Roman foundations were robbed during the late C11 and C12. A large number of pits were dug, particularly on Sites A and E, during the medieval period up to the late C15 or early C16. One building belonged to the C15 -C16; another to the C13-C15.
