Full Description

1997: Almost hidden by hoarding on the west side of the entrance to Hythe Railway Station is a concrete, FW3/24 pillbox. It has 10in wide x 12in high loopholes and the entrance is on the NW side away from the road . The walls are 15in thick. From this position the pillbox would have effectively covered the railway level crossing only 40 yards to the east.<1>

Two photos of site.<2>

2007: Visited in 2007, the pillbox has now been fenced around with high panelling and thus cannot be seen from the road. However, it appears to survive much as it has for the past 67 years.
