Full Description

C16 and later timber framed house.

A historic survey produced by Leigh Alston in 2001. He reocrds, Brook Farm House was built during the 17th century in two distinct phases of construction. The easternmost structure is the earlier of the two, dating from c.1650, and was designed as an extension to a pre-existing building on the site of the main house to the its left. This pre-existing structure was demolished and rebuilt no later than c.1680, and now represents a typical later 17th century Yeoman farmhouse of 'lobby-entrance' plan containing a central hall flanked by a parlour and service rooms.<1>
