Full Description

David Andrews compiled a heritage statement in 2017 to support a listed building application. This work indicates the building is a hall and cross-wing dating from the 14th or early 15th century, with evidence of a shop front to the cross-wing and high end dias canopy (both rare features). The sequence of rebuilding and development, with the reconstruction of the service end and the north extension, is a good illustration of the way medieval house evolved. The component parts of the house are well preserved with much historic fabric intact.<1>
