Full Description

During excavations at the Gilberd School in 1984-5, a short length of a probable timber drain was recorded along the eastern side of MCC340 (CAT Building 133). Charred oak fragments formed the bottom and possibly the lid of the drain. There was no trace of the drain to the north and it is possible that it turned west through MCC340 to conduct waste into the largely gully which apparently extended out of Room 5.<1>
