Full Description

During excavations at the Gilberd School in 1984-5, a short length of drain was recorded along the southern edge of the east-west military street (MCC335) to the north of Barrack Block 2 (MCC337). The drain was less regular than the timber drain to the north (MCC342) and its eastern end consisted of a narrow gully. The drain cut through the thick occupation deposits in the street area suggesting that it had been either re-cut or was a secondary feature. Its western end joined a wider shallow gully (MCC341).<1>
