Full Description

A very small quantity of Roman tile and a mid-1st century sherd were recovered from the gravel. The dating evidence places them early to mid 1st century AD (see also GRP60086), pre-dating the construction of the temple in the late 1st or early 2nd century. The excavation of the pads revealed no sign of the temenos wall (destroyed by previous building work or perhaps the line of the wall was avoided?).
