Full Description

Roman quarry-pit or large pit found in the Trench 12 of the evaluation, along with other Roman pits in Trenches 10, 12 and 13 (in the north of the site). A large amount of Roman pottery sherds were recovered from the quarry pit. This evidence indicates the settlement area in the Roman period in the vicinity. This domestic area is associated with the public entertainment building (Roman Circus MON1055) in the south-west and the cemeteries in the south-eastern corner of the site. <1>
