Full Description

Three pre-Roman pits (Pits II-IV), shallower than the other (also pre-Roman) pit found at the site (MCC2856), with a depth of only 18in. to 2ft. The filling was again layers of silt and gravel. One pit produced from its base a small lump of iron, possibly a nail head.<1>
