Full Description
Following demolition of the old house at number 24 Castle Road, the soil was stripped from the site, under a watching brief, in order for the site to be prepared for the new house. A rough opus signinum floor at a depth of between 40-64cm below modern garden level. It was cut by one feature; a modern looking pit from which a residual? Roman sherd was recovered. There were no wall lines associated with the floor.<1>
