Full Description

An excavation took place in 1949-50 on the premises of the Essex County Standard on Culver Street, somewhere in the block now made up of 12 Culver Street and 24 High Street. The observations were made during the excavations for a new press room and large quantities of Roman pottery, Medieval-post Medieval Pottery, glassware and animal bones were recovered.
