Full Description

An archaeological excavation was undertaken in advance of the digging of a tower crane pit (4.3 x 3.4m in size) at 22-25 High Street. Dirty clay floors (L30 - L33) and a stretch of rubble walling (F14)indicated the presence of a 15th-16th century building (Period 7). Pottery from the clay floor was identified as Fabric 21a (15th-16th century).<1>
