Full Description

A hearth (BF820) which contained a military strap fitting, was concealed beneath the earliest metalling of the street between Barrack Blocks 1 (MCC332) and 2 (MCC337). It was thought that the hearth together with associated occupation debris were likely to have derived from the construction phase of the barracks.<1>
