Full Description

Remains of a Roman wall discovered during excavations in Castle Park between 1927/8 (ECC793). The wall consisted of an angle built of septaria and mortar. The return stretched northwards for 6ft. and led to a 'very large, vague mortar layer, presumably a foundation, which we soon abandoned.'<1>
