Full Description

The remains of a north-south Roman wall discovered during excavations in Castle Park in 1927/28 (ECC793). The remains consisted of a 3ft wide patch of loose septaria and mortar situated 72ft. west from the west face of a drain culvert (see MCC1515). Hull felt that it was 'quite possible that this represented the west wall' of a building which elsewhere was defined by two other walls (see MCC2376 and MCC2377).<1>
