Full Description

A watching brief was maintained during the construction of a rear extension to 9 High Street (Barclays Bank). 'The area was extensively pitted, possibly in the medieval period. The sections were largely composed of slightly differing shades of dark brown sandy loam pit-fill flecked with oyster and tile fragments'.<1>
