Full Description
In 1857 a very fine piece of mosaic pavement was found in the Red Lion yard while making a drain, about 2ft. underground. The ornamental part was about 25ft square, the drain was cut through it. A drawing by J. Parish is held in the museum and is reproduced in Hull's 'Roman Colchester', PlXXIVB.<1><2>
