Description

In 1857 a very fine piece of pavement was found in the Red Lion yard while making a drain, about 2ft underground. The ornamental part was about 25ft square, the drain was cut through it. A drawing by J.Parish is held in the museum and is reproduced in Hull's 'Roman Colchester', PlXXIVB. <1><2>
