Full Description

During excavations at 147 Lexden Road, a Roman gully or rubbish pit was revealed. This was cut into a deposit of clay, chalk, ash and sand which may have formed part of a floor. The feature was dated to the period immediately prior to the Boudican revolt and was overlain by a thin burnt layer.<1>
