Full Description

During amateur excavations on a site along St Helen's lane in 1955 (ECC935), remains of a Roman building were discovered. The foundations of the building were revealed at a depth of 2ft. 8''. In addition a red tessellated pavement was found at a depth of 2ft. situated in the middle of the east side of the building. Three interior east-west partitions were recorded.<1>
