Full Description

During excavations at the Telephone Exchange Site (ECC872), the remains of a possible Roman hypocaust were discovered. The remains consisted of several tiles bedded in mortar on sand. On this floor stood a single pier of tile and stone in mortar, 12 in. high and 18 in. square.<1>
