Full Description

Hull's notes record an observation by Laver, 'When making a drain from Priory Street to the intercepting drain near East Bridge, Jan 1902, a shallow well was found. It was between 5 & 6ft deep. There was nothing of interest in the filling material. H Laver judges this to be probably Roman.<1><2>
