Full Description

A robbed-out Roman wall was discovered during excavations (ECC812) on land acquired for the Eastern National Bus depot in 1931. The wall was represented by a slot 2ft. 3in. wide and full of loose mortar rubble, the top of which was 5ft. 2in. from the surface. The wall formed the north side of a room containing a tessellated pavement (MCC1869) which was bounded on the south by another wall (MCC1867).<1>
