Full Description

Remains of a Roman wall found during excavations in the Castle Park in 1928/9. The wall consisted of two blocks of septaria which bounded a north-south street (MCC1849) to the east and which 'may indicate the position of the boundary-wall of Insula 16. To the east was an area of gravel metalling which may have been a yard or floor.<1>
