Full Description
A probable Roman ditch recorded during excavations at 'The Old Castle' in field 1081 at Lexden (ECC683). The ditch was one of a parallel pair (see also MCC1737), 15ft apart which were followed for 50ft and were aligned towards the Balkerne Gate. This led the excavators to believe the ditches may have belonged to a Roman road.<1>
