Full Description

A Roman drain was discovered during the excavation of a sewer trench on the Queen Street Bus Station site in 1958/9 (ECC1523). The drain was about 11in. wide and 4 - 6 in. deep. It ran north-south? through the tile course of an east-west wall (MCC1709). Both the wall and drain may have belonged to 'House II' (MCC1701) which was discovered during excavations on the site in 1955 (ECC667).<1>
