Full Description

A Roman wall foundation was discovered during excavations at the Lewis's Garden Site in 1958 (ECC669). The wall ran off in an easterly direction from the north-east corner of a building (MCC1691) and may have been contemporary with it or a later addition. Only the 2ft. wide and 9in. deep foundations remained built of septaria and mortar.<1>
