Full Description

During excavations at Lewis's Gardens in 1958 (ECC669), the robbed-out foundation trench for a Roman wall discovered beneath the floors of a later building (MCC1691). The trench was round bottomed and mortar-lined. The wall post-dated the earliest features on the site (see MCC1678) and was probably levelled when the later building was built.<1>
