Full Description
A watching brief was maintained during the excavation of four service trenches across the south -east part of the crescent. Roman road gravel belonging to a north-south street was exposed in trench 2, 0.4 m below the modern ground level. Trenches 1 and 4 appeared to be cut through mainly modern material and there was no sign of street metalling.<1>
