Full Description

A concrete footway built to the south of the southern foundation for the Temple of Claudius precinct wall. The footway or apron was 2.43m wide and sloped into a timber-lined drain (MCC1559). The apron was resurfaced at a later date probably to keep it level with a new layer of metalling on the street to the south (MCC1551) and street metalling eventually buried the apron completely.<1><2>
