Full Description

Probable North-South Street, Legionary Fortress.
At the northern end of the Freda Gunton Lodge site, Balkerne Gardens, the earliest layer of metalling, 0.15m thick, sealed a layer of light brown sandy clay loam 0.4m thick. This make-up and metalling may have been military in origin, and it appeared to survive in use until at least AD60/61.<1>
