Full Description

A Roman wall foundation was discovered during groundwork for a new nursery building in the grounds of East Hill House. The widths of the walls were consistent with those of houses as opposed to domestic buildings. A second wall (MCC1472) and robber trench (MCC1479) were found further to the east and the two may have belonged to a building situated 12m to the north (see MCC1477).<1>
