Full Description

During excavations at Culver Street between 1981-2 and 1984-5 (ECC337) a Roman drain was discovered cutting through the metalling of an east-west footway (MCC819) along the south side of an east-west street (MCC812) and to the north of a building (MCC886). The footway sloped from north to south and then turned east along the inside of the rear of the footway wall.<1>
