Full Description

During excavations at Culver Street between 1981-2 and 1984-5 (ECC337), a Roman water main was discovered lying along the north side of an east-west street (MCC733). The main was laid in a wide trench large enough for several mains. The main survived as traces of decayed timber and two iron collars.<1>
