Description
Excavations by Colchester Archaeological Group members in the gardens of No. 26 Lexden Road prior to landscaping alterations being made by the new owners. Trial trenching on the lawn revealed traces of a metalled surface approximately 2 feet below the surface. Two main sections were excavated across the road.<1>
