Description

A fragment of pavement, which must have extended at least 20ft in each direction, is mentioned by J.H. Pollexfen (1864), who goes on to record portions of other pavements 'of a more common description' nearby, and evidently belonging to the same building at an average depth from the surface of about 2ft 6". Hull believes that Pollexfens notes refer to the buildings exposed during Parish's 1865 excavation on the site of the current 6th Form College. <1>
