Description

In 1955 several people began to dig on the site of a kiln first discovered in 1933 (see EVT3001). Mr.H.C.Calver in particular reported that there were three more unexplored kilns and gave up his interest in the site to the Museum. One of the kilns (Hull's Kiln 29) was uncovered by Calver who found it was circular and complete. He left it exposed but unexcavated. The three unexplored kilns were finally excavated in 1959 (see EVT3030 ) <1>
