Description
The excavation of Area C2 was followed by a watching brief, during the digging of service trenches, undertaken by the Colchester Archaeological Trust in 2007.<1><2><3>
During a watching brief, the robbed-out foundations of the inner and outer walls of the south cavea of the Roman circus were uncovered together with a probable external buttress. Other excavated remains included parts of a Roman ring-ditch and a gully.
