Description
Archaeological monitoring of a series of probeholes at 10 locations and boreholes at 6 locations in advance of the Vineyard Gate redevelopment produced evidence for the medieval defensive ditch to the south of the town wall. Roman, medieval and later deposits were located further south, together with more general information relating to the topographical development of the area.<1>
