Description
David Clarke note of 1960's excavation: ' Another section was cut of the wide ditch in Land Lane and in spite of flooding which could not be controlled, the ditch was shown to have had timber revetting at this point. This land has now been acquired by the Borough, so it will soon be possible to walk right round the Walls in this sector and they can be properly cleaned up and restored'.<1>
