Description

Observations in Wire's Diary regarding discoveries at 18 North Hill. He records that a first brass of Postumus (d. AD268) was found in garden by owner’s son (Mr Bryant Junior), then 'more pavement found just like the rest' (10/1/1846) (Refers to tessellated pavement found in 1845 refer to ECC2302) then '…Bryant junior showed a white earth vase with neck and formerly a handle [thumbnail sketch of flagon] found in his garden… [the same one]…about eight feet below the surface' (9/4/1846); then '…Bryant junior showed a 3rd brass coin of Licinius (c.AD250-325) found in garden' (7/5/1846) <1> See also ECC161 for discoveries in 1847.<1><2><3>
