Description

A carved oak window heading was found during the demolition of premises in the High Street for the erection of the annexe to the National and Provincial Bank in 1924. The heading was dated to the early 15th century. (It is not clear without further work whether the extension was No 12 or No 13 High Street, although No 12 seems the most likely choice given the No 13 was mostly rebuilt in the 18th century).<1> COLEM 1924.4870.<2>
