Description

A watching brief was undertaken during the construction of the Persimmon Homes at Turner Rise. Roman roof tile and brick tile were found in foundation trenches for buildings on the extreme east side of site C2. This was in mixed deposits of building rubble (brick/tile) visible in the sides of the trenches. A least some of the finds came from a feature that was obscured by smearing. A spread of other material was found across the development, but not in significant quantities. See <1>. COLEM 1998.17 <2>
