Description

In the spring of 1958 Mr H.C. Calver emptied a Roman rubbish pit in this brickfield. The contents included Samian, Rhenish, Castor, Buff and Grey pottery sherds as well as one fragment of soft white stone, possibly decayed marble- if so it was a veneer about 1/2 "! Thick. <1> COLEM 1958.60
