Description

A note by Hull records 'In August 1931 a trench was cut along the west side of Oxford Road against the footpath. Yellow sand was found all along save for a few shallow pits filled with darker earth and oyster shells. These did not appear to be graves. The Roman surface seems to have gone completely. The finds consisted of a coin Tetricus : a mortarium stamp ATREXI; and some fragment of Roman potter'.<1>
