Description

When laying a water main along the north side of Lexden Road several small pits were encountered opposite the gate of 'The Lindens'. They were about 2ft deep and one of them yielded some pottery and a neck of a flagon found with a second brass of Hadrian in the mouth.<1> COLEM 1930.781-2 <2>
