Description
A structural survey was undertaken by Richard Shackle in 1994 during renovations. 39-41 Queen Street has a brick Georgian front but behind this is a complex of 16th century timber-framed buildings. The building comprised a southern crosswing, which formerly stood on the site next door, a northern crosswing, a long wall jetty and a jettied rear extension behind the northern crosswing. The building was extensively rebuilt in the 18th century, when the brick frontage was added.<1>
